As a clarification I have 2 Bristlenoses with bristles. One is an albino and the other natural occurring color/patterns. they act like a breeding pair...but that just doesn't add up. I thought I would have to separate 2 males to keep them from tearing each other up, but this not an issue for these 2.

Bronze Cory companions
I'm looking at a friends tank and was asked to advise him on Cories that would work with his remaining 2 Bronze Cories. I didn't see anything wrong with his suggestion of Julii cories. They should interact pretty well. My big suggestion was to make sure that the setup was 3 of each type. Any opinioo...

Marine Catfish
I am considering starting up a marine tank and would love to have some catfish. I was reading that there are 2 families of catfish that are marine. Have you ever raised these fish and if so what species works the best? I usually try to keep my fish to a maximum of 8" and easy to maintain. Also,...

Mats, You could include some Natives. These include minnows, shiners, and darters as long as there are no restrictions for the species (endangered, etc..). Other fish that seem to do well in a cool tank are Bearded Cories (the genus changed so they are not considered in the family corydoras anymore ...

I don't have a problem with the petricolas. I have them in with a 4 upside down cats, 2 longfinned Bristlenoses and my pride and joys - aspidoras (6). I have plenty of vegetation and hiding areas including floating corkwood. I may not have a biology degree, but it works for them..the tank is balance...

We have all 3 varieties of the little buggers! They are all very interestuing and have their own personality. I believe that if regular size cories are best in groups of 6 or more , these guys are best in groups of 8 or more...and they breed like rabbits! Welcome to the site from the Great Lake Stat...

Porthole Cats - Breeding Suggestions
I have 4 Porthole Cats (Dianema Longibarbis). I was curious if anyone has bred them and if there are substantial differences between the portholes and the cories. Any special set up? These guys are my all-time favorite cat and I'd like to have a few more around so that I can give some to the...

MatsP, Thanks for the info. Yes, by next to nil, I am as close to zero as possible with the accuracy of the test kit (you can't tell I'm an engineer can you?). That's why I was confused by the other post when I was stating there's a very very small amount of ammonia and nitrite. Otherwise, I wouldn'...

Porthole Cats (Dianema Longibarbis)
All, When I first got into the hobby a couple of years ago I was able to purchase 2 porthole cats. Are these not available anymore? These guys are really fun to watch around the tank. Yes, I know they do not have the striped tail. But, I find this version very interesting. I guess I'd liek to post t...
