That is cool, maybe we will start to see this more often. Anything unusual with the spawn? I’m not sure I’ve seen any other reports of it spawning.

I understand that this species will be described soon.

@Jools - does my video and post affect PCF in an undesirable way? A lot of photos in my gcat review video are from the PCF. What would you like me to do? We always enjoyed a straightforward and friendly relationship with you, Jools, so don't feel like you need to dance around the subject. Hi Viktor...

Re: Quarantining for a New Pleco Owner

Don't worry, as a new pleco owner you personally don't need to quarantine. :-) Sorry, my awful sense of humour. We probably need to know a bit more to really help. What's it going into in terms of the main tank? And what's been it's route to you? You can do a dip, many use this method, or you can ju...

Re: Sold as a worm line pleco. It’s definitely not that. Some kind of Peckoltia, but I can’t narrow it down.

I'm not sure the reply from the fish store adds a lot and it's hard to see on what basis this would be a hybrid. I too would say L147 only because it looks like it has a longer body than a Peckoltia . Ancistomus have a slightly longer body which is easier to see in larger fish. Patterns are not much...

It's useful to see pics, I didn't realise there were discus, rainbowfish, SAE, , rams, angelfish, corys and snails in there too. Without taking out a few fishes, I wouldn't add a to the mix.

Re: L600 information needed. I am thinking of getting one

I think the tank is big enough given you're only keeping one and, if it were me, I'd move out the longfin bristlenose to remove the risk of hybridisation with the L183 + free up some space. What I would also do is think about a large arch of wood in the middle of the tank (it is a tall tank) for the...

I know it's not the main thrust of it, but if I read it right (I had to look up a LOT of words), another paper that supports all/most of the stripey Xingu Hypancistrus being one species with a lot of pattern variation? OK, using your log as the best test case.

I can see foods.

I have enhanced it to show further spawning reports.

The sizes you mention are missing, so looking into that.

I can't see any reason not to move it. I'll pickup the empty genus at some point, I get a monthly alert. Hi Luigi, The Loricariidae family page has a map which you can explore. There's nothing really from this region you will find in a fish store. Maybe consider Ancistrus spp. from Northern or Southern South America that like it a bit cooler? Even the good old common Ancistrus would be a good choice wi...

It also means that the roof has been supporting a weight already with the water tank. Assuming joists/build are the same in the rest of the attic then sounds good. Only thing about drawing water off the tank is to have plenty of safeguards for not overfilling the tanks! I don't think I've ever met a...
