Your tank sounds like a great home for your new L183. Like Mats said the only thing missing is tank temp. You just want to make sure that you are in the upper 70's lower 80's as he suggested.

Chris told me that they take a while to mature. Also the Barbatus I have are maybe 1.5"-2" and are not showing any sexual dimorphism yet. I figured that would be a good clue that they were of breeding age too.

Can you post up pics of the fish that spawned? Through all of my research on Barbatus I found that they take a couple years to reach sexual maturity and at that point the males are some times almost 4"TL.

Could be the males aren't sexually mature or the water is not correct for the baby cories to survive. Do the eggs just get eaten or get moldy then eaten?
