Re: 150+ Hypancistrus zebra got stolen!

It would make it easier to find t...

Hi Looks like a nice tank in the making good luck with it just a quick question do you need to put anything between the tank base and the metal frame,I know you do this with wood bases but just shocked me to see none and only seen metal bases on much smaller tank say 3 foot and under. Thanks Jerry

Re: Construction project, Take em out or leave em in???

Hi shadowcat

Glad the tank renovation went ok for you and the fish give them time to get used to the new setup, don't know if worth trying is to pop some food at the back of the cave at night and see if eaten in the morning they probably go in at night when you an't there.

Hope this helps Jerry

Hi shadowcat

Just to quote the cat_elog.

Carnivore although not a predator, prawns and chopped mussel appear favourites.

Isn't shrimp a kind of prawn ! :foggie:

Sorry could not resist.

Re: rio 240 200w heater

Hi shadowcat What you are saying about pre heating your water to the temp of your tank before water changing it is ok the same as my prefrance is I don't heat mine, what I am saying is that fish can withstand cold water changes(as in breeding season type)which can happen as and when you do weakly nor...

Hi akb42 You Said. but my Royal suddenly gets shy every time the camera appears... Re: rio 240 200w heater

Hi roo When you first set up a tank it will take a long time for it to heat up to the required temp from cold also IMO when the tank set up and doing a water change with cold water say 25% the heater should raise the temp by aprox 1 degree per hour if you do heat it to quickly it may affect the fish...

Hi Lloydy Have you tried taking some media out of the filter that increases the flow also you can try to fit a spraybar that generates more flow(I tape up some of the holes to get more power) this can reduce the life of impeller, or another option is a power head that can add quite a bit more flow t...
