Re: New Bristlenose Wont Eat

Alright there are many reasons fish don't eat and you haven't really given us much to go on. First of all your fish is most likely Ancistrus cf_cirrhosus and if you click on that name it will transport you directly to knowledge! That page has the most info that you possible get, you can see what is ...

Re: L128 breeding suggestions?

I was looking into this not long ago :P High flow/well oxygenated water, no vegetation, drift wood is ok but large boulders are more so what they live amongst. Hemiancistrus subviridis has some breeding reports and Cotm article that could also help shed some light on things, I also read an article a...

Not an Otocinclus... I don't even think its catfish! I could be off but it looks more like a gara or loach species to me.

Re: Platystacus cotylephorus

Look like its just shedding its skin. All four of my Amaralia hypsiura shed their skin anywhere from a week to a month after I got them and haven't done it again sense. My "theory" is that they do it when adjusting to different water qualities and even if thats the case its probably only a...

Hello everyone! I have not been participating a whole lot as of late, between exams and some other personal struggles I have really only had it in me to watch from a far. Sometimes if you get e reply within the day your pretty luck ;) I only keep one Otocinclus vittatus in a 6 gallon for algae control.... I've never actually had to feed him! The tank gets so much algae of all different types he always has a full belly. However with most algae eaters your supposed to ...

Thanks Acanthicus! I think I'll keep the E.quadracostatus but I may add some Salvania natans, the problem is the tank isn't open and the lid maybe leaves half a centimeter, would this be adequate for a floating plant? I'll get my hand on some more dragon stone (Have a pile of it somewhere...) and wi...

I use ADA La plata and colorado sands (small grain size) and my plecos, whiptails and banjos have no trouble burying or foraging. I'm actually debating getting a group of cories for either of those tanks.

For bottom dwelling asian species that don't get massive you should look in to the Erethistes group. I have 3 Erethistes jerdoni and they are splendid but minuscule, there are larger members of the family (all still very small, I believe the largest is 2.5 inches). Mid water black water south americ...
