Night Time viewing recommendations
Hello Everyone, I was interested in putting a "moonlight" system into my 20 gallon L pleco tank. I already know what system I am going to purchase, the only question is which color lights are best for drawing out the fish? I know the blue moon light systems look relatively natural, but I r...

Re: Properly Cooking the veggies/Other foods
I have tried yellow squash and zuchinni ( I know that was spelt wrong). I have omnivorus plecos(according to this website.) L129's & L201's. That is good to hear about the blanching, cause I am sick of cooking (21 years old and have already been an executive chef.) I will post pics later tonight...

Properly Cooking the veggies/Other foods
Hello, I have been having problems with blanching my veggies. For some reason, none of my fish will touch them, which suprised me because I thought for sure that the oto cats would latch on. I was wondering how to "properly" blanch them. How long in the water then what other steps should b...

Re: when to start panicking about L239
Its good to hear your L239 is doing good!
I just had a question about the eggwhite/food on a rock. How do you let it harden? Do you bake it, let it sit in room temperature, let it sit outside, how does it work?
Like I said, it is good to hear you were able to save him!

L201's diet
Hello, My 4x L201's are doing great and are getting fat. I was just wondering what I should feed them specifically so that I know they are getting the food and eating it too. I have never seen them eat, but they have gained some mass since I got them. So in otherwords, what types of foods should I s...

Re: ID this pl*co
You really think so? I thought his looked more "pleco" like than mine, the whole body shape seems different, let alone the dark black color.
If so maybe I can get it from him for my female lol.

Re: Mt ottos are spawing like crazy!
I had pretty much the same experience with otos and corys breeding. My otos (were 4) just started to wiggle and stick around eachother alot more. I had 3 fry that were all eaten, and now I am with just a pair. Apistomaster, I have that exact type of paraoto in my tank. Mine is a female, she needs a ...

Re: Oriconos River Biotope
Hmm, that annoys me because I was just reading in a book that I took back to the library that that is their primary location.. back to looking through that website. Thanks for that link, very helpful. Oh and yes, just wanted to know what corys come from the same biotope area that the 201's come from.

Oriconos River Biotope
Hello, I am setting up my 20 gallon L (30x12x12) tank for a small Oriconos biotope tank for catfish. My tank is to house my L 201's and I was hoping to do some Cent. perugiae, but i don't remember if they were from there. Some of the other possible inhabitants I was thinking would be Microglanis ihe...

Re: Hello from Wisconsin
Thanks everyone for the nice welcome. I have a quick question for you guys. I cannot find this fish (it is posted under the wanted section too) on any order forms anywhere. thanks so much, I looked through those pictures and it almost looked like a timeline of his life. He started out living in a Lake Tang tank, then moved to a planted SA tank and now is in my native US tank. any Idea of the sex?

Hello, I am a college student in S.E. Wisconsin and have been keeping fish for many years (since I can remember.) I am currently trying to finish my SA catfish tank (20 gal L). I have bred a species of banjo catfish, common plecos, bumblebee catfish (SA type) and madtoms. My current catfish list con...
