Re: Ancistrus Growth Habits?
I also have encountered this. I had two longfin albinos that one grew perfectly while the other stayed around 2-2 1/5 inches. I had them in a high tech planted 60gal for almost 3 yrs. I have bred the larger one an it has been very productive.

Re: Substrate depth for planted tank
Like any potted plant the bigger the bucket, more all around growth. If it is heavily planted or plants close together the roots will intertwine with each other, wich is usually ok an compete for nutrients. Most plants are root feeders an get little from the water column. They do get their co2 from ...

water changes
I know water changes often help aid in growth an spawning. I have been mixing my well water with R/O for a T.D.S. of around 150+-20, the tap runs at 280 T.D.S. My question is should i or can i keep my fish in my tap an just use the R/O to try an trigger a spawn. I am keeping L333,L201 Contradens,L10...

Panaque maccus maturity
I have had a pair of old breeding P. maccus for a while now, they have bred in another setup but not mine yet. Well i have gathered 6 or so juvenile maccuss to grow out along with these breeders, iam guessing there between 6-12 months old. Today i watched one of the females go into a cave with the a...

Re: The new pleco system, or what I've been busy with!
This is going to be awesome. I wish the best of luck to your system, 50-90 gallons of new H2O every day will be spectacular. It also sounds like your t.d.s is perfect.I could only wish mines at 290 so i mix at about 50-50
