Re: What do you look like?
Whilst this is an ancient thread, it sort of fits that I include a picture from 2003- that's not far off the most recent picture I've got! The only catfish I've ever caught angling: Nice! Was that in France? We should start a new thread although it may be more appropriate elsewhere. Here's me with ...

Here's an interesting quote: 'Writing in Naturalised Animals of the British Isles Sir Christopher Lever notes that it has a "distinctly sinister appearance". He goes on to describe the creature in some depth: "The head, back and sides are usually some shade of greenish-black spotted w...

Re: Frozen blood worms good or bad?
It's worth trying different brands of frozen bloodworm. IME the quality varies, some are rubbish. TMC's gamma bloodworm is the one I go for. I would agree with that. It's a bit more expensive but it has been irradiated (many of the cheaper ones have not) and you get nice firm bright red bloodworm w...

At what size are Scleromystax barbatus saleable?
Hi All Looking for a bit of advice and testing interest. My first lot of Scleromystax barbatus babies are now about 3 months old. They are a pretty solid 3-3.5 cms long and colouring up nicely. As I've never bred cories previously, I'm looking for a bit of advice as to at what size they are saleable...

I absolutely love my but they are quite big and need fairly specific water conditions. I reckon a group of healthy takes some beating.

Re: HELP!! L046 (zebraPleco) warts?? papilloma??
I don't have any experience with Lymphocystis in freshwater fish but have seen loads of it in the marine fish importers I have worked in, where it can be a real problem. If left untreated in marines it will slowly spread and eventually the fish will often succumb to some (probably) secondary disease...

That's really sad to hear Birger, I hope we will still see you here on PC.
Wish I lived closer, you have some beautiful fish.
Good luck with your health in the future, I hope it does not deteriorate too badly.

Awesome stuff Tortelli! It's fascinating to see the habitat from above and below the water as well as the excellent photos you have taken of your catch. The fact that you can now pinpoint the precise location on Google maps is a complete bonus. Now we know what Google maps was created for!

My three are quite variable in colour. The largest of them is always 'blotchy' like this. The other two are darker.

Just wondering Birger. The pattern is like but the body shape and long nose is wrong. There's nothing I can see with that body shape and nose with anything like the same pattern.
