Re: What sex are my Pseudacanthicus Leopardus

Thanks Pseudasmart. Yes I can see why you are thinking female. I have L114 and the females are much plumper - the skinnier build confused me.

Re: Revision of Spectracanthicus

Nice paper. There is also a number of other L-numbers which are assigned to new species. L363 is now Spectracanthicus immaculatus and L020 and L354 are now S. zuanoni. They also agree with Armbruster (2004) that Oligancistrus is a junior synonym of Spectracanthicus.

Re: My L114 have finally spawned!

Thanks David. I dont want to hijack this post but hopefully they will spawn in not-to-distant future. The males are 22-25 cm now and two females of three females are often gravid. I just need to get them going.

Re: Breeding a special Yellow Hypancistrus sp L333

Great looking L333 and an interesting thread. It's nice to know that there are a couple of Hypans that can produce broad-banded specimens. A while ago I got a small group of L066's from a breeder. One of them has broad bands. http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u602/flatfish69/flatfish_kingtigerspor...

That's awesome news Geoff. Congratulations. I hadn't been on the site for a little while and have just caught up on your acheivements.  Hopefully my L002's may do something eventually. Plenty of fanning by the male but no sign of a female at his cave.

Re: Suspect this is some form of panaque "tiger pl*co"

thanks Geoff. It looks like they may be adult L002 then. They definitely have fairly thin lines on the head and look very similar to my other large juvenile tiger plecos, which were sold as L271's. Looks like I may have a decent group of the same thing, most likely L002.

Re: Suspect this is some form of panaque "tiger pl*co"

they are not always that darkly coloured. They were from two different sources. The larger female was brought separately from the other three but they were brought as L169's from fish keepers, although in my opinion they look a fair bit like larger versions of yours Phoenix44. Now I'm confused. My o...

Hi guys. This is a great post. While were on the subject of Panaque tiger plecos. Heres a few adult tiger plecos that I have. They have all grown a bit now and are in better condition. Any ideas on species? L002/L169..... small female http://inlinethumb24.webshots.com/10519/2877358810100841066S500x5...

it is. You've got me intrigued now. I want to know what my tiger plecos are as well. Sounds like L002 or L169 might be a possibility.

Hello: another pl*co keeper from NZ

Hi. I have used this site for a few years now and find it excellent. I have mainly Panaques: L204's, LDA31, a royal, and a few juvenile and adult 'tiger pl*cos' - the same species or something very similar to what Phoenix44 is trying to get sorted out (?L002/L169 ....).
