Corydoras kanei

I described kanei in 1997. The original type specimens did not have spots on the snout. I agree that C46 is probably C. kanei, but I am not convinced that sp. "Rio Branco" (the one with the spotted snout) or (especially) C26 represent C. kanei.

IMO it is a juvenile Pseudompimelodus raninus. You may find this fish recently listed (including on Planet Catfish) as Batrochoglanis raninus due to some impending changes by Oscar Shibatta. I personally have doubts about the use of this name but that is another (long) story. They reach between 10cm...
