Re: Snails in my breeding tank!
I actively encourage snails in all my tanks. They do a great job cleaning up the microscopic pieces of uneaten food. I would look upon them as doing you a favour in cleaning this waste that would otherwise potentially foul the water. Same here  When I set up my fish shed I bought 50 MTS o...

Re: Dechlorinators? Amquel+ vs Novaqua+ vs Stress Coat?
I think it really depends on the amount of water that you are changing that will dictate the type of dechlorinator that would suite you best. I started with Seachem Prime which is, I think, a very good product for the price. Use 1 ml for each 10 gallons of water. 100 ml treats 1,000 gallons; 250 ml ...

Why not DONT keep any ancistrus or 'pleco's 'and keep some synodontis instead ?
Not too sure on the availability of syno's in Oz but there must be some species available.

Re: Bristlenose mating
I have had 2 lots of BN babies come out of the 'woodwork' in the last few days (normal and albino) I feed them exactly the same as the adults, in fact the only thing I do any different is larger and more frequent water changes due to having approx 100+ extra 'little poo machines' doing what poo mach...

Re: marble bristlenose pleco
This is a calico/piebald bristlenose. This is a bred color form of Ancistrus cf_cirrhosus . I have a few of those scattered about my tanks and they was bred from 'normal' BN like in Alscats photos. I have found that BN can change their colouration depending on their age and what sort of decor the t...

Re: Panda Corys beating each other up?
My first immediate thought was that maybe you have had something come in on the plants and is munching on the cory's, I have had dragonfly larvae and water beetles come in on plants before.
My second though is that ammonia is burning the fins.
Has the tank been cycled properly ?

Ps. The clarias is 'marbled' not albino
An albino cannot have any black (melanin) in its colouration, also albino's have pink eye's.

Absolutely, not to mention removing the potential suffering of a living ready-meal - it just isn't necessary. Are you including such things as Daphnia, brine shrimp, bloodworms in this ? If not, why not ? They are living creatures as well. Where is the line drawn and by whom ? Personly, I cant see ...

a room at 84F would be unbearable to do much work in. Can I ask why the room must be so warm ? Whatever temperature my fishroom is, the tanks are approx 2 degree's cooler. So I'm guessing that you keep your tanks at about 82F (28C) ? Why not just get rid of the heaters and just space heat the entir...

Re: Anyone know what this Native (UK) fish is?
Not sure. I'm having trouble interpreting its nose/mouth. My wild guess is a gudgeon, Gobio gobio? Totally the wrong shape for a gudgeon which are torpedo shaped, this fish's doesnt look to have the roach/rudd/bream shape either (head profile is too broad looking from this angle). Neither does it l...

Re: Anyone know what this Native (UK) fish is?
Any clue's on whether it is marine or freshwater ?
(guessing that is probably freshwater by the debris in the water and twigs in the foreground)
Lake or river, fast or slow water flow.
Approx size if known.
