Re: Netty Common Names
The only one I already know is RTC but I don't know what the word netty means? I guess you would have all the info wrt what people are looking for in the search and if many people look up RTC etc, then it would make sense to include it. Maybe I would like it more if it was the short-form for the pro...

Re: Another forum planting links in posts
Thanks Jools and all. I wouldn't mind so much if it was a glossary type thing and that would be helpful to some but the words that are chosen are not related to the site contents at all. The site is about motorbikes but a word like 'boot' doesn't come up with boots for cyclists but a seemingly rando...

This question is about the inner workings of another forum that is commercially owned - NOT THIS ONE! I'm asking because people here seem to know the rules of these type of things and may be able to tell me what's going on. This forum seem to have it's stuff together like no other - thanks Jools! Happy New Year!
1) Separate my two big community tanks into smaller tanks.
2) Find enough corys to make a really wonderful display in the main tank.
3) Find more unusual twigs.
4) Find a way to equip my motorbike with a bucket/air combo for madtom hunting in Ontario.

Thanks andywoolloo! I've butchered that poor poem a dozen times now but it just lends itself so nicely to whatever's on one's mind :d It's funny, I just realized that if I look back over the years, I can use that poem to track the fetish-of-the-moment in my whole life history. Re: Snow - free soft water :-)
Hm, guess I'm just lucky here with very soft clean snow. MatsP: Oh, and you only get a tiny amount of water from a big pile of snow... But it's free - like cheaper than RO water. I guess the best is to collect that really heavy snow that make lots of water and test it first. exasperatus2002: how it ...

I mentioned how snow can be used as lovely fish tank water in Tank Talk now lets see if anyone has made any snowmen or snow fish? Lots of you out there have kids who have never seen snow like this. Okay, I've scanned through a bunch of your recent posts and must have missed 'a recent fish that has not been added.' Saw all kind of pictures from Norway of breeding catfish but none of them were species owned by Dave R.
Can you take a moment to give us another clue?

Snow - free soft water :-)
I was trying to look on the bright side for all those people that got massive amounts of snow and it's making their life miserable. Snow is wonderful for fishtank water - nice and soft and clean as long as you don't get it from your roof or some other possible contaminated source. Otherwise, get you...

Lucky you! My most active fish are Megalechis thoracata . Always busy all the time and they didn't bother my other fish. I also have farlowella, P, maccus, L401 and corys. I don't know how big your tank is so a fish that gets 5 inches may be the wrong size. If they have swimming room they're quite a...

Hi, Don't know anything about your native minnows but the minnows here stay small, are active predators and are perfectly 'happy' in the water under the ice in ponds as long as there's a hole so they do just fine in the same areas with warmer summer temps too. They're quite interesting to watch. My ...

I was thinking about soaking it in vinegar to help loosen up the bits before giving plain water a run-through?I don't know how I could run anything thru it honestly. It has an attachment at both ends, one for the sink and one for a gravel vac. which do not come off

Brilliant!
Do you think something like vinegar would work? Safe and cleans all sorts of fishtank related items.
Too bad you couldn't put it in a tank with otos!
