Re: bristlenose egg problems need help

bristlenoses are certainly prolific. Without really trying, I have one pair of browns that breed true, a pair of albinos that breed true, and another brown pair that breed 50/50 brown and albino-- all standard fins and have a bunch of young soon looking for homes

Re: Hypancistrus sp. L201 spawning [large pics!]

I have a group of 5 that I have been growing out. Then Friday evening I noticed a small number of good size fry in the tank and today it looks like a male has a female trapped in the cave.

My first spawn with a Hypancistrus.

Re: breeding L10a

thanks for the info. Thrifty, I think I bought some of your sp.Peru at the OCA show last year? I understand the red lizards to prefer meaty foods so I will have to pick up some grindals. The last batch I bought never took off. Again, probably victim to my weird work hours. Any other advice is still ...

breeding L10a

I have a group of red lizards that has become very prolific and need to find a way to raise the young. I am single and work a lot and dont have the time to dedicate to these guys as I have read about. There may be three breeding females in there because every time I remove the tube with the eggs, an...

Re: combining SA species

I have about 30 species of cories and two aspidoras.

Which like warmer water?? I might have some of them already.

Excellent replies and I do appreciate it. I will adjust my plans accordingly including using the HMF.

Re: combining SA species

Thanks Mats

correct-- or dwarf BN

I should have been clear, I do not plan on combining the Hypancistrus with other Hypancistrus

so I guess the question becomes, can I have success with a group of Hypancistrus, with a pair of bristlenose and a group of cories or two in a single 4'x1'x1' 33 gal tank?

combining SA species

Hello all from Indiana. I am interested in the expertise on Planetcatfish to help me with my idea. I am going to be putting 3 33 US gal tanks on the same rack to try to breed multiple species. The tanks are about 4'x 1'x1' The intent is to put a group of L #'s in each with a group of cories and a br...

Re: L201

my first post I think!

I just recieved a group of 5 WC 201 this week. They are a very good looking fish.

I just got into the Hypancistrus of late and so far, they seem easy to please if you do a little research.

Go for it!

Re: New Year’s resolution 2011

I am going to organize my fishroom. I have so much stuff that it gets in the way of putting tanks and fish where they should be. I am going to breed an L-number other than my newly prolific pairs of Dwarf BN. I am going to get more cories to breed in tanks where I can collect the eggs. I have too ma...
