Re: fish obeisity. my fat fish theory

I value your opinion as i share it with you, I try to double filtration in all my tanks or at least over filter, the handy by product in all this is increased flow, which means fit spritely active fish, nutrient circulation for plants- even the MH aquatics at wheatcroft garden centre have put a prop...

Re: why is there no expected age/lifetime in Cat-eLog?

As to #2: I don't think life span actually matters much at all. What does matter is "time to saleable/edible size" - say Salmon for example, some of these grow to 15-20kg (appro 30-40 lbs), but the ones sold in shops are usually in the 2-4kg / 4-8lbs range - so the time it takes to reach ...

Re: why is there no expected age/lifetime in Cat-eLog?

We just want a rough idea of how long they live and how long we can enjoy viewing or breeding them, it's not much to ask, we are saying expected age after all.
Without much ado I think we are missing the point slightly?

I would like to thank Kostas (*) for that input but cannot access a "thank" button anywhere?
Also I have four Pyjamas synodontis and they don't seem to be growing much at all - they still fit in the nooks and crannies of my bog wood although slightly giving themselves away

Re: Polka-Dot or Pyjama Syno's?

Ok, now as far as i have known the polka-dot syno is synodontis decora, so I'm confused about why or how synodontis angelicus made it into the answer?? However Polka-dot synos can be kept with Pyjama synos (synodontis flavitaeniata) the polka dot grows about 9 inches and the pyjama about seven inche...

Re: New 29 gal stocking and potential snail issue

I find that the less I feed the less snails breed, also the less I feed along with them breeding less means less waste food before it goes in the snails mouth and less snails to make more ammonia with what comes out the other end; and less "missed" bits of food which would normally be deca...
