Re: What do you look like?
You guys have been busy here, still missing a few hundred pics...fish people must be camera-shy. At least two of you don't look at all like I imagined, You look much younger, I guess your experience makes you seem older and wiser.

Hypoptopoma cf_guentheri ? New Bike I looked at that one too. Could tell what it was in the pic by the trumpet style exhaust. :d It's a copy of the VFR body. Much lighter than mine. Very big deal here! Tiny bit More upright than the Ninja 250. Faster in the straights, slower in the corners. Paddy T...

Re: New/old Banjo video
lol! Yes they are the weirdest little critters. They seem to be very active most of the time, sometimes I just have to look harder to find them but I can usually recognize the little eyeballs peeking out of the sand. That tank has been redone. In the video there was both silica sand and round pebble...

Looks good and I see you didn't get eaten by a croc! Nice stand too. How is the plant harvesting going? Did that myself recently and used a golfball retriever to grab them by the roots. Seemed to work pretty good except I could have used a stronger one for the deeper rooted plants or ones that were ...

Thanks guys! So far so good. Thanks L Number Banana. Nice bike. New/old Banjo video
Found this on the old camera. Kill the sound if you don't want to hear my TV (sorry!) Tank is totally fixed up now and replanted, more coconut caves, heater floats free so no synos get too close. He's not 'perfect' but he sure is cute! I'm glad he's found a happy home, I would have bought him in a second. Like Proteus said, this may turn out to be the coolest fish in the tank. Enjoy him!

Hi Andrew, Keep using the borax solution. It does work. Takes a little while for the queen to eat enough to kick the bucket but that's why a weak solution is best, you want to make sure they keep feeding it to her. I work in horticulture and this is all we use. Have for years and as long as the solu...

Re: new banjos finally :-)
Banjos are adjusting well and come out to feed on shrimp pellets. Hold their own when Synos are slashing the pellets around and nuzzling into their space. Don't quite have the hang of hiding yet...as long as there's pellets, they don't seem to care. Fuzzy pics but here's the three of them 'hiding'. ...

Re: anyone have panchax?
Thanks, I just found some notes on life spans. Now I see why it was to difficult to give a ball park figure! I'll double check the species at the shop and if it's the one I thought it was, I think I could handle four+ years. Three months just would have been horrid for me - I'm too much of a wimp. :...

No breeding plans for these fish, just find them exquisitely beautiful.
Are they really that short-lived?? (months?)

Well, don't be going anywhere yet Larry, too much still to do. I certainly never expected to find these at my local. Sweet pics! Congrats, beautiful fish.
My otos do that to me, one day there's eight and next day there's 13?? I'm up to 16 and haven't caught them at fry stage yet. The tank started with four.

Great find. Now, you'll have to get your torch out to see them in the night, because I betcha they aren't coming out during daylight! -- Mats I was kind of surprized that the banjos were out in the open last night for most of the evening. This morning there was only one out and about. The other two...
