Re: Parotocinclus sp. Nanay Eanea

Here is a cool story/article about the Rio Nanay in Peru. From all the pics I have found, it looks more like a blackwater Amazon bio-tope rather than a whitewater bio-tope. http://www.aquatic-experts.com/Searching_for_discus_in_Peru_and_Colombia_ARTICLE.html What do you all think, will tannins be an...

Re: Parotocinclus sp. Nanay Eanea

The tank that I am planning on putting the six I get from mark is inhabited by CRS and I put almond leaves in it. I tear the singular leaves into chunks about one square in. Hopefully there will be plenty of Aufwuchs feeding on the litter.

Re: Do L183 Starl;ights loose their white fin tips as they a

I thought this was mentioned in the Cat-eLog for L183 . But yes, almost all Ancistrinii lose their "edges to fins" - gold nugget pleco, any ancistrus that have white (or light) edge trim, they all lose most or all of the edge trim with age. In some cases, the edge goes altogtether, and so...

Re: FS-smaller por. Ken's premium foods offering mixed packa

What did you get from Ken? thats the beauty of what I do, you dont need to order the minimum 1/2lb from him only to find out your animals dont like it. That's why I keep ~20 types of foods so for $13 someone can get a variety of foods and order from Ken in bulk whatever they find works the best. ;)...

Do L183 Starl;ights loose their white fin tips as they age?

I'm not talking about the specks/dots. I'm talking specifically about the white line on their dorsal and caudal fins. I took everything out of my L183 breeding tank for a few reasons. I'm going to be selling one of the adult males (there were still no aggression issues or issues at all and even thou...

Got any Meat & Spirulina Wafers? My BN really love those!! Unfortunately I'm not Offering that food any longer. I thought it would be a hit but I think the name put people off. MEAT & spirulina wafers. When I first saw it I though of hamberger mixed with spirulina, gross. But when I actuall...

Re: FS-smaller por. Ken's premium foods offering mixed packa

I have no problem shipping you some foods if you want some. I just got done shipping quite a lot of RO water filtration equipment to a buddy in the Netherlands and he just got done shipping me 10L of Tropica TPN+. I'm sure INTL shipping (6-10 days) wouldn't be more than $20 and I could probably send...

Re: FS-smaller por. Ken's premium foods offering mixed packa

Not trying to hijack your thread. Just wanted to say that I have been buying from Ken's for several years and I find my fish to be happy campers with the food. I have a an Oscar that is a very fussy eater and as soon as I switched to Ken's he latched onto the food without hesitation. He also seems ...

Re: Repashy Superfoods for fish

About price comparisons... comparing dry weight Repashy to dry weight of a flake or pellet, the Repashy is going to be more expensive. But imo there is less waste and the the delivery system for getting the food into the fish is more efficient. What I was trying to point out my local clubs forums w...

Never been bit bit you want to talk about jumping!

I know my L183's are absolutely harmless but still, when your cleaning and all of a sudden what you thought was a piece of DW scoots out of its place. Whew, there was some water on the floor after that one! :)

Re: L183 Star light breedong, or lack there of in the winter

I vaguely remember my L183's taking a break last winter but I am not 100% for sure. Is it normal for these to take a siesta from breeding during the winter months and do other plecos do the same? Thanks! Here, all breeding fish take a break now and again. Is this something that happens whenever the...

Very glad to see you got some new Cocamas. About how long do you estimate it will be before they are of breeding age and im sure you have a list as long as your arm but could you possibly put me on the list of folks that want some cocama babies once you have them large enough to sell?

humans have only been here for roughly .01% of the time the earth has been around it doesn't sting quite as bad. Sure, humans can't put an end to life or evolution on earth. We will come to an end, and new organisms will certainly evolve. However, what we are doing is making the rest of our species...

I remember when I had my royal. In the 4 years I had him (I unfortunately gassed him with co2 :( ) he completely ate both th...

I really think it sucks that human intrusion is causing this problem but when I remember that 99.99% of all species that once existed on our planet are now extinct and that humans (this differs between people and depends on your religious beliefs but I believe we have been here for about 500,000 yea...
