Re: Is this a L282?
Can you get any extra info from the shop keeper? Was it a trade in or part of an order? My instinct is it is a Pseuda cross. They have been showing up over your way and even a couple in Australia last year. I will dig up my notes as I have been trying to keep records of anything interesting or odd. ...

Interesting specimen! It does not follow the typical L282 but not sure where to place it. Can you get more photos including from above?

I agree with Barbie but only 85% on the L24. The skin on the L24 and the L114s look rough. Have to ask how is their water?

Re: These two Pseudas are not like the others
Here are better photos(I hope). They look good on my PC and cooler in person. All 4 were bought as L185s from Xingu. The largest one looks like a L185 the other 3 have grey worm line patterns. They arrived at 4" but grew very differently. First one again IMG_0925 - Copy.JPG Another of the 3 IMG...

These two Pseudas are not like the others
When you import fish when they are small not all of them grow up to look the same. I actually find it interesting when that happens. I was not planning on photos when I moved them. I am trying to get better photos. In any event I wanted to get input from the community on two of my Pseudacanthicus th...

Yes that will work. I have kept a pair of full grown L160s with a trio of L200s in that size with no major issues.

My L600 fry are still in the corners after one month even though there are, in my opinion, better places to hide. I have been raising them for years and have never paid attention before.
Always something to learn.

I want to commend everyone on the way this topic has been handled. Other forums would have quickly downhill. Personally I am amused by all the attempts to over regulate everything. I live in a semi rural area with 100s of acres of state land next to my property. Taking walks on the trails I always s...

Re: Raising The Eggs Manually (Ancistrus)
Looks like you are doing a good job. I agree on not using air stones for these guys. I found the 'tumblers' battered the eggs even with only a small amount of air. I have been trying to figure out when they stop piling into the corners and hide under wood and such. So far I have not found a set time...

Re: Compatibility ?
First big question. What size tank? If the tank is of proper size you could probably keep them together for a while. The 114s will focus on each other first. You will need more than 3 hiding places and keep them well fed. If they get along now it will work until you add other fish or redecorate the ...

Re: ID needed for Psuedacanthicus
If the presentations are available online from the convention a link would be greatly appreciated. Since one of the experts was the exporter that I talked directly to, it is unlikely the fish were mixed. When Ingo was in the US in October he provided me with a P. Sp. Alenquer fin clipping. For every...

Re: ID needed for Psuedacanthicus
Jac, Your photo shows the classic L65 faint wave pattern. Andy, Yours look almost identical to the group of L97s I imported directly from Brazil last year. They ranged from no spots, faded spots, to a lot of white polka dots. Some also have a slight wave pattern but not quite the same as the L65. I ...

It is a nice one. The price is in the current range. The real question should be: is it worth it to you?
A better picture would help but comparing the photo to others it might be an L427.

Not all 273s lose their color. It appears there are several sub groups. I have seen a few adults that kept their color. I belief I have the right ones.

The Ibama site is not very easy to work with. It almost seems like they are transitioning to another website. Your link is to the last update in 2008. The only way to find the list is to use the Brazil Google search page and use Portuguese not English. This is the link you want. http://www.mpa.gov.b...

Re: L-25 trio, sex these please!
Unfortunately fin shapes does not work for L25s. As pointed out color is not a good test of sex. There are differences between the three but it could be because they are thin.
