This is an Chrysichthys that was caught in congo. It looks a lot like the fish on the last two pics of but not like the fish in the first pic.

I know better pics are needed, I post them as soon as I have them.

Lex suggested on a dutch forum it might be .

yup, but these are very hard to determinate

not in the least because the whole Chrysichthys nomenclature is one big mess.

let me check in Seegers and I'll be back on this

whatever it is, this is the same fish species that used to end up here in Tilburg as a loner in a small LFS

the one difference is that that one was brownish instead of grey.

I have three of these, one male and two females and I have been calling them Chrysichthys cf. nigrodigitatus. Females are little bit over 30cm(TL) and male is about 20cm(TL) There is many photos of this same species that are labeled as C. furcatus but as far as I know it is synonym for nigrodigitatus.

Looks like a standard Aluminum cat sold here. All I am saying it is most common in eastern US. Have no idea what sp. I have had one for over a year.

cannot find a pic of mine but he looks the same as Brislnose94's cat
