Last night I purchased an L330 that's maybe 12" - give or take an inch or so.
While I've seen some big ones before, I've never seen one in person with such big odontodes.
I'm guessing this fish is pretty old but have no clue how old. Is there an reasonably accurate way of estimating the age of a pleco?

Re: Determining age of pleco
Hi
There is no way to tell the age as long as the fish is alive and even when it's dead it is not an easy task, since you need to dissect the specimen to get a rough idea of it's age.
The odontodes are no characteristic of age, they can grow huge and fall of the other day.
