Cory ID please
Cory ID please
I saw these for sale at my LFS labelled as aeneus. I had my doubts and at £11 for 6 it seemed a great deal anyway.

Re: Cory ID please
Thanks Bekateen, opinion seems divided on the other forum I'm in. Between Schultzei and a cross between lasers and aeneus.

Re: Cory ID please
Hi Munroco,
I can understand how some might think it's a cross between aeneus and one of the lasers because of the presence of the laser stripe, and yes it's true that corys do have a habit of hybridizing. But since natural schultzei have the laser stripe too, there is no reason to invoke the notion that this fish is a hybrid.
I don't consider myself an authority, but to give you confidence in the ID as schultzei, one of the people who gave me this ID was no less than Ian Fuller, who is considered a world authority on corys.
Cheers, Eric

Re: Cory ID please
Thanks Eric. I shall go forward confident that they are Schultzi.
My £11 seems even more of a bargain now.
