Once my West African Set up is complete I was planning on turning my 50G into a SA community(Red hooks,SA cichlids,Small plecos, Etc) Would these fit in well? Anyone kept them before? Im guessing they are blackwater? I have many oaks nearby adding leaves for them to camo with wouldnt be an issue.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Why is so little known about this fish? And why is it so rare? I would think it to be as common as Banjos? It certainly is a very unique and very Beautiful fish!

They are probably not that rare. The only problem is that outside of the people frequenting this forum, they are not seen as being particularly attractive by the general aquarium community (their dull brown coloration just makes matters worse).
Because they are not generally considered attratcive, importers would hesitate to bring in fish that they cannot sell large numbers of, and hence the corresponding rarity in the aquarium trade.
This situation is symptomatic of many catfishes and not just this species.
