I wish you luck. I don't know of any information about reproduction, but , a close relative, has had some observations from nature. is a migratory breeder that is a broadcast spawner and provides no parental care of the young.

There are 7 keepers in the Cat-eLog, but I've never heard of anyone spawning these. If they are migratory fish, then it can be quite difficult to reproduce the breeding conditions in a tank.

That is some gang. I don't think I've ever seen more than a couple of them at once in the shops.
The fearsome fish in the background would probably eat any eggs if they were to spawn.
Oh, and could you perhaps edit your location in the User Control panel - I'm pretty sure that you are from Boston, MA, USA, but someone may accidentally think that you are from another Boston (for example the one in Lincolnshire, England which gave your city it's name - and I suspect there are other places for example in Australia and other places in the USA/Canada that have this name).

Very nice collection! Good luck with any breeding attempts - any idea at what size they are physically able to procreate?

Re: L152, Pineapple Pleco
I would give them a try by their own in a large tank with many caves to choose from, this is the species from the Orinoco drainage, the Brazilian one from Rio branco is nicer ;) Without any proof I have heard a rumour that they have bred them in ponds without any current, maybe they are not so difficult... the biggest problem is maybe to get both sexes in a mature size... and yours look mature to me.

They're pretty cool looking fish. Hope you have some success with the breeding.

Re: L152, Pineapple Pleco
Any updates on your breeding attempt? I am about to pick up a small (5") one, and was searching around and found this thread again.
