Food for juvie L46

Post by JayC74 »

Hi everybody, was wondering the best food for zebras that are less than an inch in size. These guys i justed purchased are real small, just want to be careful. Can i feed them finely chopped earthworm sticks? Are they too rich in protein at this size? Anybody have favorites to feed at this stage. I do know bloodworms are a no-no for a while. Thanx for any feedback,

Jason

I think earthworms sticks is what Larry (Apistomaster) feeds his Hypan and Peckoltia young. They seem to love it. IMO, bloodworms are a no-no even for adults. Blackworms are much better, but not really necessary.

Earthworm sticks are fine. I don't chop them, I just break them into small pieces.

I tend to feed them community or the shrimp formula, to be honest. They will also eat the meat formula, but I haven't ever tried the soilent green for the zebras.

Thanks. I have not tried the Carnivore although I have some but all my plecos (Hypans, Panaque, Peckoltia, Pseudas, Baryancistrus) seem to love the Soilent Green.

For some reason my l46 LOVE the soilent green and community plus more than the meat pie. Every Time I feed them the meat pie I will always see some left over the next morning.

There a lot of distributors. I had mine from :
http://jehmco.com/html/spectrum.html

Later on I saw the products on a pleco market in Germany, so the next time i'm going to find out who is distributing them there because it will be much cheaper.

Think at the moment the Thera A+ (1mm) is the best choice ...
