Pseudohemiodon sp. `PERU information

Post by Rainman »

Hello all, I already introduced me to the board and have some questions about Pseudohemiodon sp.PERU
I'have the plan to keep Pseudohemiodon sp. Peru. They will be sold by the breeder when they are big enough.

Untill that time I have the possiblity to make the right aquascape and to look for the suitable other inhabitants.
The breeder isn't sure wether they are Pseudohemiodon sp. Peru I or Pseudohemiodon sp. Peru II.
The adult fish does have filaments on the tails.

I have some questions about keeping and the region they are living.
According to the Pseudohemiodon sp.Marbled article the Pseudohemiodon are living in clear water.
Does the sp Peru ( I or II) also live in clear water ?
The CateLog isn't saying anything about wher these fish live, does anybody know is wich river/stream they live ?

Have you access to the merges atlas 1? There is tonnes of info you'll appreciate. I believe info for any pseudohemiodon species can be applied to all in terms of substrate & water conditions
Lou: Every young man's fantasy is to have a three-way.
Jacob: Yeah not with another fu**!ng guy!
Lou: It's still a three-way!

Hi,

There are some undescribed Pseudohemiodon species comming from Peru (not only sp. I and sp. II).
But they all have nearly the same type of habitat in common.
You can find them at the sandy shelves of white water streams around Iquitos.

BTW: Rio Itaya isn't a clearwater stream at all.

so long

I would seriously recommend buying this book, if you're even half serious about keeping loricariids. It's available in English and German.

Where exactly did you read that, as the cat-elog page for says white water, which is correct?

There's some info on aquascaping for Pseudohemiodon in the COTM article here.
