Newly discovered fish

Post by MERLIN2 »

Can anyone suggest the best journal/club/organisation to join which gives updates on new discoveries as well as changes to scientific names. I am trying to compile an up to date list of scientific names and common names and I would like to keep this as up to date as possible.

Many thanks

Do you mean for callichthyids only, or for all catfishes?
Ian Fuller's website http://www.corydoras.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ is great for what you want for corydoradines.
There are no other resources I know of for all catfishes. This forum is a good place to start, however.

You could join the Catfish Study Group (UK). Although it is UK based we have members from all over the world. We produce a quarterly magazine we call CatChat. Many of our members are also members of this forum.

Thanks Ian

I am a member of CSG. I am hoping to attend some of the meetings this year although it is quite a distance to travel from London.

It would be good to meet you. I don't know if you will be able to get to the February meeting on the 16th but it is the convention with Hans-Georg Evers and Ingo Seidel as guest speakers.
