Leucistics L46

Post by Bellenz »

Hey Guys

We like to share what we have found in our L46 breeding stocks. We believe that this is a leucistics L46 that was left behind in its parents' tank. We thought it was a sick L46, but after further inspections, it is not.
Here is the picture:

Wow, that's pretty neat. At first, I would be shocked to find that in my tank and would thin it was a sick fish but it's cool - an albino zebra pleco!

I also have a video of my zebras (taken at night when they come out to feed) for anyone interested, check it out
.

It's not an albino. Albinos always have red eyes.

The idea of line breeding zebras to fix traits has always made me laugh. Given the amount of time if takes to get them to spawning age size and then the small size of spawns, line breeding would be a lifetime project.

How many similar specimens like the one in this thread have been reported? How hard would it be to get a single pair?

But, it is a really neat looking fish for sure.
