Rabauti vs Zygatus

Post by Herman63 »

I got a batch of Rabauti and think some may be C. Zygatus.

Could someone explain about the stripe in simple terms the catalog mentions something about plates at the caudal fin?

Also do the Zygatus have a darkish patch on their sides where the rabauti don't??

Thank you very much, Herman63

Herman63,

You have already raised this exact question before on the 4th December and I thought my explanation was OK, unless you can post a picture of the fish you have I cannot add anything to what I have already told you.

Ian,

I understood that was mainly wanting to know what the catlog meant by the plates and caudal fin?

I belivie they are Zygatus due to the stripe has a irredesense and they look just enough different in the shape of the head and mouth region.

Again thanks for the info before and now, really wish I had a camera.

Take care, Herman

Herm,
You should've been at OCA. Ian had a great slide show, that left no doubts! Thanks for the great presentation Coryman!!! I truely enjoyed it!
