Is there a way to designate Variety in Catfish?

Post by rcbows »

Is there a way to designate Variety in Catfish? For instance there are so many varieties of Ancistrus sp. cirrhosis, but to the best of my knowledge no way to designate color, finage etc. Shouldn't there be some scientific taxonomic terminology to designate variety(?)in Catfish or for that matter in all fish! Or is there and I just don't know it yet! :-\

There is not a standard way to designate varieties as far as I know.
