Ostracod Advice Please.

Post by DeLBoD »

Hello, I recently discovered a few Ostracod in my filter media and donâ??t know what to make of it.
I found a little reading on the net about them being harmless to fish and good for Algae control but mainly associated with dirty pond waters.
There was nothing about getting rid of them. Iâ??ve tried Protozin and Sterazin but there still alive, Salt kills them instantly but I have all catfish so thatâ??s a no go. :?
Anybody else experienced these creatures in there aquariums?

Couldn't you just feed the ostracods to your fish?

Yes. There so small they would be excellent for fry.
I have a Fresh water shrimp farm which I use for food, so they could grow in the same tank with them nps.
Thanks.
