Need Help - Possibly FUNGUS

Post by sodapopdima »

On my pieces of driftwood, and only on my driftwood, a starnge white see through fuzzy blurry substance is growing. I scraped it off last week andnow its back. I am worried its Fungus and that my fish can get it. I have some poor pictures that I took so if anyone can help me identify it and possibly offer a remedy, I will be very grateful.

Thank you all .....

i am not up on fungi in relation to bog wood. it may be benificial to loricads mainly panaques
however,, if you are too worried by it.. take it out and if the bogwoods fits bang it into the microwave and that should kill off any deep rooted trendrils of the fungi. but keep an eye on it ,
one piece i did yrs ago i forgot about and a internal fire was started in it. .. the wife went mad,,
as the smell of burning bogwood isnt that nice.. :(
