Breeding different varieties

Post by scorpiox55 »

:?: I have a dumb newbie question. Will different varieties breed with each other? Could or would a zebra breed with a spotted (sorry I don't know the #) pl*co? I raise angels and the different genotypes are bred together all the time. Is this true of pl*cos? Thanks, JoAnne

Not unless they are very closely related species.
This means no in most cases.

With angels, the different "types" are still all the same species, and mainly man made color morphs, or modified finnage. With plecos, they are literally different species, and while there are occasionally reports of spawns occuring between two closely related species within the same family, it's not a common occurence.
