My First Pleco Spawn

Post by Fish Soup »

Commonly bred, I know. But since it's my first I wanted to share. Bought the parents off of Julie at Frybabies last March. They were a little over an inch at that time. The first spawn came out of the cave on Christmas Day. A second spawn just come out a week ago. All totaled about 75 living fry.

Hey, congratulations! I think I may attempt a bristlenose breeding project in the summer (if finances and time allow), so you might see me asking for tips. How big of a tank did you use? Where are you in PA, if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks! I'm in Delaware County, just a few miles south of Philly.

Congratulations.

My babies are on the second week out of "daddie's" care now. Eating anything I feed them with, particularly courgette, algae wafer and the odd "cory pellet".

Here they are at about 6 weeks, taken 2 days ago. Eating a slice of mango.
