To me it looks most like the L236, colouration-wise.

http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/lo ... /969_1.php

The only thing deterring me from say the L236 is the fact that in the pictures in the Cat-elog don't show an anal fin, whereas it's very clear to see on your first two pictures. But I guess the L236 must have one? (help?)

The third picture of yours is really good (not so much for ID, though)- glad to see the fish has settled, and cool to see the white markings looking so bright.

Hi Jerms,
I think you may have a little GEM there :D , the last box of 236 that cane into my friend's shop had only one just like your's. More black with not many thin white line's.

Jon - by fake zebra do you mean L-316 Rio Jari zebra?

I'm personally 100% sure that this is not Hypancistrus Zebra. H. Zebra do not have that curved pattern in their lines, and are more white than black, whilst this fish surely has a black base with white lines.

Don't know what it is, but it sure looks nice...

Amazing! If one had told me it were different fish (pic 1/2 opposed to pic 3) I would have believed it.
I understand that you want to determine it, but it may just as well not even have an L-number.
Anyway, a great plec!

Ramblin man: don't worry, the L236 does have an analfin.
