Lima Shovelnose with large CA/SA cichlids?

Post by SkillzDatKillz »

I am going to be getting some juvi CA/SA cichlids for my 72x18x24 135 tank. They are an Oscar, JD, Gold sev, Green Terror, Firemouth, Convict, Green Texas. I was wondering if I could house 1 or 2 lima shovelnoses and maybe some pictus? Anyone see a problem with this?

PS: why does it block out cichlids?

I've done something similar except in a 48" x 48" by 18" tank. I think the Lima will be fine if provided with enough hidding places, at least for when is young, (I used tons of wood similar to it) but don't know about the pictus

In my case the Oscar did not last for a month!

I agree... They are usually unmolested by these cichlids. At least mine almost never gets a bite. And never gets a beating, BTW.

Best regards.

Daniel.
