this fish isnt mine, it belongs to this guy in israel, he is a real pleco guy and knows alot about them, he had this fish and he sold him.
a couple of weeks ago a pleco shipment arrived to israel with L137 on them, so I went to pick up some but they didnt have blue eyes and they didnt look like this one at all.

so anyone knows what is this amazing fish?

This fish is L137.

The others you picked up were likely Hypostomus (cf.) cochliodon from the Parana drainage. This blue eyed fish comes from Tapajos.

The species is in the Cat-eLog here, but I don't think it's not got much info, or even an L-number.

I was referring to the Welsatlas 2 in which this blue eyed fish is identified as L137 Cochliodon sp.
Compared to the WA2 the PCF Cochliodon/Hypostomus IDs are a bit misleading

Christian,

I agree that the Cat-eLog for L137 may be incorrect. If we look at http://www.transfish.de/LCode/L137.jpg, it also shows a blue-eyed species. Since Transfish is one of the companies that are often supplying pictures for DATZ to form the L-numbers in the first place. so the Cat-eLog is wrong, in this case...

From transfish's website, it does look like L77 and L137 aren't the same fish, but the Cat-eLog is listing them AS THE SAME... Maybe they should be split...

I'm going to post in the Cat-eLog section to see if anyone else has any thoughts on it.

I certainly agree with that.

That Cat-eLog on this site is somewhat mixing the two identies of the Tapajos and Parana, which have different eye-colour. Whether that's sufficient to make them different species or just different locale-dependant variants is a different story.
