Red gills, updated with pictures

Post by jac »

Hi,

Today I became the lucky owner of 50 adult and juvenile C. Panda's :D
I've put them in a big tank by themselves. I wanted to observe them first before I put a big group in my discus tank.
At the first quick examination I detected some cory's with red gills. What does this mean exactly? Is it a bacteria or is it a worm infection or something else??
What is the best medication?

Thanks, Jacqueline

Hey,

stress and fresh tank imho.
No medicines needed just keep doing regular waterchanges and watch No2 levels carefully.

Regards.

Hi,

The red gills did disappear after a week or so.
Yesterday I made a selection for my breeding group and the others I put in my discus tank. After catching them the red gills reappeared again. So I can say it is due to stress. Hopefully it will go away on its own again.
Just wanted to let you know  They are doing fine!

Greetsss Jacqueline

Congratulations Jacqueline. I am happy to hear your cories are OK. I will need to keep this in mind if I ever get some pandas of my own.
