Keeping snails off of plants

I want to know How to get snails off of plants when I get them, before the get in my tank. Do you have any ideas

If you haven't got them - the best thing is to prevent them getting in - when they're in, it's tough to get rid of them. Some types of fish will eat the snails - some doradids, some synos, some botias, some puffers but these are often not good fish to mix with others if the set-up isn't suitable. There is also a new type of snail which eats other snails (asassin snail) - i can't say they are too hot with sorting out my MTS's

The first step would be to check that you do not have any snails or eggs on the plants themselves. This is more likely on plants with reasonable sized leaves, such as Amazon Swords. If you see eggs, scrape them off and dispose of. If you see snails, squash them or flush them down the toilet or some such.

I've heard of people dipping plants in bleach (diluted with water) or other similar chemicals. It may well work - I don't know for sure. IF you use bleach, make sure you wash the plants WELL in clean water with plenty of declorinator.
