hoplos are at it again

Post by crkinney »

As of late I have been working on planting my tanks and I was about to post some pict. of the job complete .in the process I have drained one than that housed a female hoplo.I did not want to put her with a male so I put my two male together ,what a war ,I put the male back to his tank and put the female in with the big male .This morning I found my planted tank all involved in a bubble nest ,not a plant left in the ground ,also the other male in the tank that abuts the nest tank has started building a nest too. What a mess!Next week they will all be together in a new set up
Has anyone tried super gluing plants to the bottom of a tank :d

Summer is Hoplo spawning season and mine have started blowing bubbles. I set up a pair in a tank of their own and hope to have a spawn soon.
Good fish are spawned and raised in Burlington.

The nest was torn apart this morning ,Last nite I watched the female deposit eggs on the barbel of the male and he put them in the nest .This morn the nest is torn up .The male is starting to rebuild the nest already .I don't understand this behavior!
