Help L133 sick!

Post by Cye »

So my long fins seem to have this yellow pollen looking stuff on them and especially their fins.

No one on face book had a real answer.. it’s not ich, some suggested “velvet” but alot of people are not sure… they seem okay and eat but I’m hearing scary things.

Atlest two of them have it in two different tanks.

PH 6.5-7
TDS 220-260
GH 8-10
KH 2-4
Temp 75F
Black sand inert.

Note, all my tanks pretty much are the same and I have tanks with plecos that do not have any issues.

Copper-O
Nitrites-O
Nitrate-.1
Ammonia-O

Plenty of air from build in filter and also bio sponge air filters.

Heavy plants,
Dirftwood
Alder cones “for anti fungal”
Leaves 🍁

A few Pygmy Cory, and also a bunch of Neocaridina shrimp, know ass cherry shrimp but these are orange sakuras.

I’ve made a hospital tank with

-good air flow
-80F
-Driftwood
-some bio filter media even tho the meds will probably ruin it.
-hiding caves
-no soils, plain bottom

I was advised to use the following meds,

Pro guard
Kanaplex
Sulaplex

All dosed into the water column.

It’s been about 12 hours and fish is still alive in the hospital tank.

Looks like velvet, I've never used those meds but I would increase temp and aeration and follow recommendations for meds you are using.
