I thought so too after looking at the cat elog.. but I recalled someone ID it as a juvenile Pinirampus pirinampu.
any second opinion ?

It doesn't appear to be what it is labeled as (Duopalatinus ); by the look of it Richard B. is right.

Not sure if the image is misplaced, or if it's really P.piriniampu, but it looks like the barbels aren't very flat in that picture [although hard to tell].
I _do_ think Richard is right, but the picture above confuses me a bit.

Fishbase list p.pinirampu as the flatwhiskered catfish, common name if memory serves me correct & certainly 1 pic in cat-e-log seems to show this, but the others do not. HH may be able to adjudicate?

yes, that fish in post 1 (I have seen a live specimen) has flat barbels.
So is it right that Exallodontus aguanai has similar type of berbels ?

Look at the eye size and placement and the mouth shape in the two pictures - those are two different fish...
