how big is it?

kinda hard to see, it looks small, but it might be 4 cm or maybe 8 cm.

these are quite hard to determinate and also: juveniles of look a lot like certain Pimelodella's too.

the latter can be distinguished by the caudal fin; in Pimelodella the lobes are pointed, in Rhamdia quelen these are rounded.

The lobes are rounded. Is it a Rhandia? Whats species?

My first thought was but I think the base length of the adipose fin is too short. I am not sure even if this is a . Sorry I am not much help.

well, the headshots are good; it's definitely not a Rhamdia, that's for sure

in Rhamdia the lower whiskers are long as well, only the innermost pair on the lower jaw is short

these fish have 2 long whiskers and 4 short ones.
not Rhamdia.

Do you have another image showing the full caudal fin, it is the shape of the whole fin that is needed.

Based on the supraoccipital process meeting the nuchal plate this is a Pimelodella not a Rhamdia IMO.
