So they will not die if in the tank is only sponge filter with aeration stone ?

No, but if you don't pay a lot of attention to water quality and temperature then they are more likely to die.

Fishkeeping is not black and white, it's about minimising risk. With your sponge filter you are running a higher risk but the airstone will help.

Take a look at the Cat-eLog page for more information about keeping .

I have kept them between 25 and 30c in the past and they seem happy with that, I am currently keeping mine at 28c, they are doing well, and have spawned 3 times at that temperature.
