Sexing unknown Sp.

So I have two

Batrochoglanis raninus

and from the info on line there is no way to sex these, now the two I have are slightly different lengths but there heads are similar size so I was wondering if this is possibly an indicator of sex. I know its completely different but in some reptiles this can be a good indicator. so if they are a pair what should i be aiming to do to try and get them to breed?? from what I have read they are scatters, my tank has a mix of substrates, sand, gravel and slate it will also have planted areas and lots of little knocks and grannies? so what to do with the water, temperatures, levels etc to get them going??

I know this is a long shot but I'm just looking for guide lines because there are many sp. of cat from the same area that must need similar stimulants to breed.

Jools, it looks like some of the images may be incorrect in this article about sexing. E.g., one syno photo is captioned, "Pair, female above" but there is only one fish I see in the photo. In the oto photo, the female is supposed to be plumper, but the images may be reversed (I'm not great with sexing otos, but IMHO the "female" photo shows a slimmer fish).

thanks for the page i have read this before. from reading this i figured i might have a pair on body shape alone. ill have a better look at them when i move them to their new tank in a couple of weeks.

well I grabbed some quick snaps today while i was doing there water change

in this pic you can see the taper into the tail is more distinct in one than the other,



and in this one the light patch between the anal fins is bigger in one than the other

I want to say you have one of both sexes based on the large difference in the taper of the fish, but i'm just guessing here...
