I want to make a list of L-numbers with the pictures also and the name is a link to the information on planetcatfish.

It's been a while since this happened, but this was a common problem about 10 years ago. There were several sites that either hot linked PC or were mirroring the site. I would advise you talk to Jools directly before doing this because it was taken offense to when I last knew of it.

Is it not a reasonable reaction when someone steals your and your friends hard work?

Nimitz has already politely asked me to use many pictures from the site and I've repeated the position laid out in the T&Cs regarding copyright. Even if I wanted to, I can't give permission on behalf of the copyright owners.

I did offer a few pictures of my own if that would help. I maybe also should have mentioned there are lots of creative commons licence pictures out there especially on wikipedia.

It's a shame however, that we seem just to be talking about l-numbers, there is a world of other catfishes out there.

Generally spoken, I don´t think it doesn´t make sense to create another site listing all the l-numbers. We have two big websites/databases who list all l-numbers (and "some" more, but this is about the numbers). You will never reach the information standard of these databases, and never get as many images to show on your site. That means, it will always look like an unfinished copy. If you specialize on a genus, or maybe two it might make more sense.

Don´t get me wrong, this is nothing against your idea in specific, but thats how I think about it.
I can send you some images as well, if you decide to continue in your idea.

Maybe you dont read good, my German friend.

I dont want to make my own database. I want to use the database on PlanetCatfish. I talked with Jools about this.

This is my idea, how it's gonna be:

L201 Hypancistrus sp.
Image

(Maybe the fish is not correct on this picture, but this is sold to me as a L201)

Now ppl maybe get what i ment to do. Now you dont have to search alot on the internet. Now you have a list with names and pictures. If you like a Catfish on a picture, you just click its name and you have all the info of this Catfish on this website.

Allright, I missed that point I guess. The fact with the pictures still is an argument I´d say, but good luck anyway. :d

edit: The ID is correct on the fish above.

Thank you. Very shy fish, but beautifull.
