Four New Species Spawned - PICS ADDED

Post by Coryologist »

Greetings. This unmerciful heat has not slowed things down in the fish room. As in years past, I am finding that the hottest months of the year are resulting in an inordinate amount of Cory spawnings.

Besides the usual suspects, I have had 3 new species, for me, decide to spawn during this endless procession of heat waves. They are C. ortegai, C. baderi, C007 and this unidentified Cory from Brazil.

I will have pics of 10 day old fry posted in the next few days. I believe that's 73 species, spawned - but who's counting??? :) Cheers. - Frank

P.S. The S. lacerdai that I received from Ian are now going through the motions. With lots of pop-up thunderstorms expected over the next few days, I'm keeping my fingers, crossed.

Thanks, Jools. Ian saw the fish in question. He had a few thoughts, but horror of horrors, I didn't agree. I have kept two of the species he brought up and don't think these are either of those. :) Additionally, no collection data is available, so that makes putting a CW# on them difficult. I agree that some information should be required. Cheers. - Frank
