Syno Robertsi

Post by Richard B »

Not trying to make @Birger jealous but I found my second today. A little 1" TL specimen (smallest I've seen). I know a few people on PC & aquarists classified have been after this species so they are about, if a tad scarce. I'll upload a pic if I can figure out how to do it from my iPhone.

Nice! My favourite syno for sure. I was actually lucky enough to find three a few years ago. I gave them to @Jools. I wonder if he still has them?

A great little Syno. I am always looking for them but haven't seen any in quite a few years. They seem to be on lists but never show up.

Just the odd one in a tank on its own but I strongly suspect there'll be others in lfs dotted around. I'll check a few this weekend.

After some time of enjoying them in an Anubias grow out tank, I swapped them with fellow Scot Colin Dunlop as I thought he might have a go at breeding them plus I got some in return.

Yes! Jools must be quite spoilt for choice up there ...

Glad they've gone to a good home though.

Yes, I know, there are only a handful of people I would have given those fish to. If Colin hadn't expressed an interest in them then they may well have flown over to Canada last year. I'm not big on regrets, but these would be an excellent breeding project.
