Re: Tank 2300l fou L014
Hey, now there have been changes in the tank, both in shelters and on the composition of catfish. 6 pcs L014 left by 12 cm and L048 added 5p to (5-7) cm and L133 at 5p (12-13) cm.
I feed minced shrimp, squid, mussels, fish and spinach. Occasionally (once a week) to give dry food and a pumpkin.
Question: - Do not multipath som including their growth on that amount? Bottom area of 3.77 m2.

No idea what you're saying there, but if you typed that question out in russian, i think it would be clearer. I can speak and read russian so i could translate a little better for the others.

Re: Tank 2300l fou L014
Ok, so here is post 5 translated slightly better.
"Right now there are six individuals of L014 (12-13cm each), five individuals of L133 (12-13cm each), and five individuals of L048 (5-7cm each) in this pond.
I am feeding this gang of plecos with minced shrimp, squid, mussels, fish and spinach , sometimes with dry foods, and once a week I give them pumpkin.
I change the water every week, and change out 500-600 liters. This is about 17%-20% of the total water volume of this setup – that’s the tub and the sump.
In the tub there are many ceramic rings/tubes, many Oak branches, and many big rocks.
Does anybody have an experience in keeping this many fish in one tank, and any information about their rate of growth in such a tank?"

Translating for OP:
"Gentlemen!
I am interested in hearing from you guys, any negative experiences of keeping large pleco catfish in one pond/large tank, specifically because of competition for food or hiding places or territoriality.
For example which catfish and which species were in your tank, how large was your tank, number of hiding places, and finally the result? (ie. if any plecos were killed from competition.)
I apologize for such a question, but since my plecos are still young, any "negative experiences" you guys could share with me will help save the lives of a certain group of catfish...
My opinion so far is that my colony should live in peace. Please correct me if I am mistaken!
Right now there are six L014, four L048, five L133 left. There are plenty of hiding places. surface area of the bottom of the pond is 3.77 meters squared.
I am very interested in hearing from you guys who have an idea about keeping such a large colony in a pond or similar sized tank!
Thank you all for your help."

Re: Танк 2300l фу L014, L048, L133
Cmon guys, help this guy out with your advice!
He is asking:
If L014, L048, and L133 are all in one tank, and they grow to adulthood, is there a possibility of of hybridization of these species? Or do I only have to worry about L048 hybridizing with L133 ?

Re: Танк 2300l фу L014, L048, L133
They're all Scobiancistrus, so there's a chance they can all interbreed I would think.

Re: Танк 2300l фу L014, L048, L133
His next question:
Is hybridization of pleco catfish bad or just not recommended? Since they are all Scobiancistrus, they can hybridize in nature too, or is it not possible in the wild because of different habitats for each species? Or should man not interfere with natural processes like this - there are already lots of hybrids/mutants in the wild?

Re: Танк 2300l фу L014, L048, L133
I don't know how likely Scobiancistrus are to interbreed, but hybridization is not recommended & can have bad results, especially if fry sold to the public, because it has the potential to pollute the gene pool. Most on here urge not to mix species capable of interbreeding because it creates a mess. If the fish hybridize & leave him with ~30 fish, would he be able to care for those fish? Selling them would be tough, I'd assume most people want pure fish, especially the people who are into catfish and can take care of such large plecos. If he does sell them, he'd have to sell them as Hybrids & who knows where the fish will end up & if they'd get mixed into another breeding group, or even the wild. In the wild they most likely come from different locations & different rivers, which is what led to the species split to begin with. If fish hybridize in nature, then it's natural (unless of course it's somehow a result of human actions), hybridization of fish in aquariums is unnatural. If he can, I'd suggest splitting them up, it just is easier than dealing with the problems & potential mess down the road.

Re: Танк 2300l фу L014, L048, L133
Just guessing/speculating here, but with the size of the pond and the number of each species I would think the chances of hybridisation would be fairly slim? In habitat fish don't just mate with what ever they can find, there obviously has to be a preference for their own species. I've seen it with cichlids, species that could and would breed together with a male of one species and a female of another sharing a tank will, when kept in larger groups together in huge tanks, ignore the potential inter-specific mate and try to court their own kind. People regularly keep all sorts of Geophagus together, yet hybrid geos are very rare.
In this size set up I would only be concerned about hybridisation if you ended up with an entirely single-sex group of one species, or you actually see it happen (in which case disposing of most of the fry or distributing them only to known associates who are interested in growing them out to see what they turn out like, not to breed, would be the best bet).

To David R from OP:
Do you have experience keeping this many plecos in this large of a tank? will they kill each other? I am very worried about intraspecific aggression...

Re: Танк 2300l фу L014, L048, L133
I have four L190 ~20cm, 3 L14 ~15cm, 2 L128 ~18cm, 1 L81 ~10cm and a couple of smaller Pekoltia in a 120x240cm footprint. There is a bit of aggression but nothing too serious yet. Worst would be between the four large Panaques, but it is only occasionally. Can't comment on that many Scobi's together though sorry.

"I took two photos of two different catfish that I am keeping here. The first photo I think is L048 and the second photo is an L133. Are my identifications correct? or are both L133? Also what are the most obvious differences between these two species of plecos? Because, from looking at the Cat-e-Log, I find it hard to spot any differences. I would really appreciate if some pleco experts chimed in on this question, thank you!
I am trying to keep track of growth, and so it is important to know which plecos are which species."
