Why so little information on Chrysichthys longipinnis
Chrysichthys longipinnis ( Aluminum catfish )
I have one of these i picked him/ her from a garden center about 6months ago
it just hides under a piece of bogwood all the time in my tank its not really grown much in those 6months either which is strage altho i never see it eating.
but there is very very little information on them?
does anyone have one themselves to post any pic's i will when i get home.

Or, to reduce the load on Jools (who has a few other things to keep him busy), you could post it in the "bugs and suggestions" section. If you use a "good" page as a template (for example ), you know which fields are available and what's usually in them.
Unfortunately, it's necessary to have someone with a bit of information to tell what should be said about each species, and if no one comes forward with information, there won't be any more info in the Cat-eLog, unfortunately.
I try my best to fill in information that I know is correct, but I don't know everything about all fishes!

yes it was sold as the Aliminium Catfish
but ive checked the only pic avaible and its almost identical
i think i have a good clear pic on my camera and will post it later for peoples comments

I think that is more likely to be Chrysichthys furcatus. The dorsal fin is too short for longipinnis. (The word 'longipinnis' refers to the long fin).
However in terms of husbandry there's no practical difference.
