resting nuggets

Post by lisa23 »

Hi

Anyone have any tips on how to stop my golden nugget resting on the heater.I have used a heater
guard but it just forces itself behind it and eventually the rubber suckers come away from the tank back. The tank is well furnished with bogwood and caves but it will insist on resting on the heater.
The tank temp is at 78f and just this one nugget has this habit,is there any particular reason why it
is doing this.

Insufficient suitable hiding places elsewhere usually. That and they like doing this if the heater is in current. Is it a big gn?

Hi jools,

There are plenty of hiding places in the tank but the heater is positioned near current so i may
just try moving it to see if this stops the problem.

HI!

I would either move the filter and have it directed in caves... or move the heater and place a cave there instead...
Cheers

Stand the heater vertical in the corner next to a powerhead or internal filter for circulation of heat, this might also stop the behaviour.
