Basics |
Overview | The first spawn was on Sunday 19th of May 2013. The breeding group consisted of 4 males and 2 females. The individuals were obtained from Corydoras sp. "black". |

Water Parameters (at time of spawning) |
pH | 6.80 to 6.80 |
Current | Air (vertical) |
Other Water Params | I have tried to breed these Corydoras sp. Black's for over a year with no luck; my tap water is 7.8 or so.. And I have not been successful despite trying to do lots of cold water changes, higher temperature, light cycles etc. Nothing worked, until I gradually adjusted the pH to 6.8 using the following method: I obtained a 50L carboy of pH 6.0 deep well water,(Apple Orchard) added Kapata leaf and a panty hose with peat moss in it. I allowed this mixture to set on my patio for a week to age. Then I began doing bi-weekly small water changes to slowly adjust the pH down to 6.8,from 7.8+; I do not have a hardness test kit but assume that the water is also much softer due to the Kapata and the peat. |
